SX3 Debt Settlement Software: System Requirements

Version 3.0

Processor:

  • PC or server with Intel / AMD processor.

Operating System (OS):

  • Any recent version of Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Microsoft Windows 10 or newer.
  • LAN Environment:
    • Workstations:
      • 32-bit or 64-bit Windows OS.
      • Memory: 16GB RAM minimum.
    • Server:
      • 32-bit or 64-bit Windows OS.
      • The main application does not run on the server; the server only hosts the shared database folder.
      • If remote users are connected, verify memory requirements with your remote access software vendor (e.g., Microsoft Terminal Services).
  • Remote Desktop Connections (e.g., Windows Terminal Services):
    • Workstations:
      • 32-bit or 64-bit Windows OS.
      • Memory: 16GB RAM minimum.
    • Server Options:
      • Third-party hosting:
        • No local server is required; data is hosted by the provider of your choice.
      • Self-hosted remote access server:
        • 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Server OS.
        • The main application runs on the server; hardware upgrades may be required.
        • Memory requirements depend on the number of concurrent users and the remote access software (e.g., Microsoft Terminal Services).
  • Windows Server remote access typically allows up to 2 concurrent users by default. Client Access Licenses (CALs) must be purchased and installed separately.
  • Microsoft Outlook must be installed on the server to send emails from the software.
  • Microsoft Word must be installed on each workstation (desktop version only) to edit, generate, and email documents.

Hard Disk:

  • Installation: Minimum of 70 MB for program files and empty database (excluding imported PDFs).
  • Additional storage: Approximately 200 MB per year for a typical company processing 1,000 new cases per month (excluding imported PDFs).

Display:

  • VGA or higher resolution monitor.
  • Minimum screen resolution: 1024 × 768.

Printer:

  • Inkjet or laser printer (laser recommended).

Faxing (legacy systems):

  • eFax or similar third-party fax service required (not included with SX3 license).

Email:

  • Microsoft Outlook must be installed on each workstation to send emails.

Document Automation:

  • Microsoft Word must be installed on each workstation (desktop version only) to edit, generate, and email documents.
  • Online versions of Microsoft Word alone don't work; a local version must be installed on each computer generating documents.

Internet:

  • Internet connection required for email, eFax, software authentication, and remote access deployments.

SX3 Loan Modification Software.

Single office installation (LAN).

(Without a server)

In the previous scenario, you can see a sample SX3 Software implementation on a small local network that does not have a server computer. For an installation of this size you just need to interconnect the computers in your office and install the software on the newest and fastest computer in your office. This type of installation is good for offices with up to 10 computers (stations). For this installation you need:

  • A License of SX3 Software for the number of users that will be using the software in the office.

  • A regular (late model) PC what will act as Server in which will be installed the main SX3 Software and database.

    • This computer can be running Windows XP or Windows 7. Windows Vista is not recommended on this main Computer.

  • The local work-stations (Computers-PCs).

    • The stations can be running Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.

  • A network hub. This is the piece of hardware that allows the computers in the office to be interconnected (wireless hubs are not recommended).

  • Every station requires internet access to be able to send email directly from the SX3 Software.

On an installation like this, the data is stored on the server but all the processes (calculations and generation of reports, etc) occur on the stations.

SX3 Loan Modification Software.

Single office installation (LAN) "with a Server".

In the previous scenario, you can see a sample SX3 Software implementation on a small local network. For an installation this size you just need to interconnect the computers in your office and install the software on the server. This type of installation is ideal for offices with more than 10 computers (stations). For this installation you need:

  • A License of SX3 Software for the number of users that will be using the software in the office.

  • A Server (fast computer with a fast Hard Disk) in which will be installed the main SX3 Software and database.

    • The server can run Windows XP, Windows 7 or Windows Server (32 or 64 bits) which is ideal. The server cannot be running Windows Vista.

  • The local work-stations (Computers-PCs).

    • The stations can be running Windows XP, Vista or 7.

Internet Hosted Server (Remote Server).

In the previous scenario, you can see a sample SX3 Software implementation on remote server. A remote server is a server hosted by a Hosting Company that offer the service of servers that can be accessed via remote desktop over the internet. When you host the SX3 Software on a remote server, you can access the software from anywhere if you have access to internet. This type of installation is ideal for Companies with multiple (distributed) offices or users who need to access the software from multiple locations. For this installation you need:

  • A License of SX3 Software for the number of users that will be using the software in the office.

  • A Remote Hosted Server provided by a Hosting Company (or yourself if you have access to an IT Professional) in which will be installed the main SX3 Software and database.

    • The server must be running Windows Server (32 or 64 bits) 2003 or 2008.

    • Inform your Hosting Company Representative that you will need to install additional CAL Licenses (explained below).

    • Inform your Hosting Company Representative that you must have access to the root folder (C:\) in order to install your software. This is pretty standard but it is always better to ask!

  • The work-stations (Computers-PCs).

    • The stations can be running any operating system (this also includes Apple Computers).

  • Every computer must have internet access to access the remote server and run the software.

On an installation like this, the data is stored on the server AND all the processes (calculations and generation of reports, etc) occur on the server, the stations only see an image of what is being processed server side.

By default (from Factory), remote hosted servers only allow access to 2 remote users at the same time (concurrently). You need to install additional CAL licenses in order to allow more than 2 remote concurrent connections.

A CAL License (Client Access License) is software that can be purchased directly from Microsoft or any other retailer like www.NewEgg.com or www.Amazon.com or www.eBay.com at a discounted price. When you purchase a CAL License for 5 additional concurrent connections you will NOT receive a CD, you will only receive a one page document that shows the license number which is what you enter on the server to activate the additional concurrent connections.

Example:

If you purchase a license of SX3 Software for 10 users and you install it on a server that only allows up to 5 concurrent connections, only 5 users will be able to use the software at the same time. Once 5 users are connected to the server, any additional attempt to connect will be rejected.

Solution A:

If you need to have more than 5 user connected to the server at the same time: In this case, you need to purchase a Microsoft CAL License for 5 additional users to reach 10 concurrent connections and get the most out of your 10 User SX3 Software.

Solution B:

If you have multiple shifts in your Company and you DO NOT need to have more than 5 users connected to the remote server to use your SX3 Software then you DO NOT need to purchase additional Microsoft CAL Licenses since you will never pass the limit of 5 concurrent connections.
